Since then India have lost 5 matches and two were inconclusive. India won the toss and elected to bat first, Team India scored 349 runs with the help of Gill’s innings of 208 runs. In response, New Zealand kept losing wickets. But then Michael Bracewell hit a century off 57 balls. He scored 140 runs in 78 balls. In the last over, the team’s innings was reduced to 337 runs. Along with winning the match, India also took a 1-0 lead in the three-match series.

Gill did not get along

Opener Shubman Gill faced 149 balls and scored 208 runs, in which 19 fours and nine sixes were hit. He stayed at the crease throughout the innings but did not support him at the other end. Captain Rohit Sharma scored 34 runs in 38 balls, being the second best scorer of the innings. Gill hit six sixes in his innings after completing 150 runs. It was his second consecutive three-point inning.

It was a fine contest between the Indian openers and the New Zealand pacers, with the hosts scoring 52 runs without losing a wicket in the first 10 overs. Lockie Ferguson was bowling at a good pace but Rohit and Gill were hitting boundaries from time to time. Rohit hit Henry Shipley (2/74) for two sixes. Was heading towards playing a big innings but was dismissed by Blair Tickner in the 13th over. Kohli (08 runs), who scored three centuries in the last four innings, played a brilliant cover drive shot but was bowled by a beautiful ball from left-arm spinner Mitchell Santner.

New Zealand gave life to Gill

Ishaan Kishan was dropped in the middle order, but he too could not stay at the crease for long and was caught by wicketkeeper Tom Latham off Ferguson’s bowling. Suryakumar Yadav (31 runs) came to the crease and along with Gill increased the run rate of the innings. Gill was still given a life when he was on 45, when Latham missed a stumping opportunity. But from then on, Gill did not look back and used his favorite pull shots against the fast bowlers and used his feet against the spinners.

Gill completed his third ODI century by one run. After Suryakumar returned to the pavilion, Gill shared a 74-run partnership with Hardik Pandya (28 runs). New Zealand showed strength after 6 tremors

For India, Mohammad Siraj once again took the wicket in the powerplay. He dismissed Devon Conway, who scored a century in Pakistan, on a bouncer. The team’s score was 42 runs after 10 overs. Hardik Pandya gave away 20 runs in the 11th over. But in the 13th over, Rohit bowled Shardul and he became the victim of Finn Allen. He scored 40 runs in 39 balls. After this Kuldeep Yadav’s magic worked. He first bowled Henry Nicholls (18) and LBW to Darrell Mitchell (9).

Glenn Phillips hits a six as soon as he arrives. But after scoring just 11 runs off 20 balls, Mohammed Shami got bowled. Captain Tom Latham was out on a score of 131 and New Zealand looked to be out of the match. But after that Mitchell Santner and Michael Bracewell showed their real game. This is the second fastest century against India in ODI cricket. Afridi had made it off 45 balls.

Santner completed Fifty off 38 balls. The two shared a 162-run partnership, off just 102 balls. Mohammad Siraj sent back Santner (57) by throwing a tossed ball. Suryakumar Yadav took his catch. In the same over, Siraj dismissed Shipley as well. But Bracewell didn’t give up. New Zealand needed 20 runs in the last over to win. He hit a six off the first ball but then Shardul Thakur lbw him to wrap up New Zealand’s innings. India won the match by 12 runs. Mohammad Siraj took 4 wickets. Bracewell hit 12 fours and 10 sixes in his innings of 140 runs.
