IND vs SA 2nd T20: Ruturaj Gaikwad out, Shubman Gill in, BCCI gives reason

BCCI said in a post on the microblogging site, ‘Ruturaj Gaikwad was not available for selection for the second SA vs IND T20I due to illness.’

Both openers were out on zero.

India named Gill and Yashasvi Jaiswal as opening batsmen for the second T20I against the Proteas. But Jaiswal could not show any magic and lost his wicket for zero in the very first over. Shubman Gill also did not disappoint the South African fans and he also returned to the pavilion without opening his account. Tilak Verma showed some excellent shots, but he too was out after scoring 29 runs in 20 balls.

Ravi Bishnoi also rested

Before this, India also kept its star batsman Shreyas Iyer out of the playing eleven. The fans were most surprised when Ravi Bishnoi, who recently became the number one bowler, was also not a part of the team. Ravindra Jadeja and Kuldeep Yadav have been given a chance as spinners.
