Hangzhou. The Indian men’s Kabaddi team got off to a great start in the 19th Asian Games with a comfortable 55-18 win over Bangladesh in their Pool A match on Tuesday.
India kept things strong against Bangladesh in the early stages of the game and managed to get their first point on the board in the fifth minute of the match.
Experienced raider Naveen Kumar completed the super raid, followed by an all-out taking India’s score to 11-2.
Bangladesh made a super tackle on Indian captain Pawan Sehrawat and remained in the match till the end of the first half. However, the score was 24–9 in favor of India.
India maintained their lead in the second half, which gave them the opportunity to rotate their raiders on the mat. Sachin and Akash together gave their team the lead.
Then, the 2018 bronze medalists scored another all-out to take the score to 37-10 and kept the momentum going till the end of the game for a comfortable 55-18 win.
India will play Thailand in their second match on Wednesday and take on Chinese Taipei in their final group match on Thursday. The top two teams of the group will qualify for the semi-finals to be held on Friday.
