New Delhi. India on Thursday announced a 39-member squad for the ISSF World Cup Junior Rifle/Pistol/Shotgun shooting events to be held in Suhl, Germany from June 1 to 6. The Junior World Cup will be followed by the Junior World Championships in Changwon, Korea in July. The team announced by the National Rifle Association of India (NRAI) has several shooters who have been representing the country at the junior level for some time now.
These include Simranjit Kaur Brar, Rajkanwar Singh Sandhu and Sameer in pistol category and Abhinav Sau and Dhanush Srikanth in rifle category besides Shardul Vihan and Preeti Rajak in shotgun category. Budding shooters like Gautami Bhanot and Swati Chowdhary (Rifle), Abhinav Chowdhary and Shubham Bisla (Pistol) and Sabira Harris and Harmer Singh Lally (Shotgun) have also found a place in the team. Two mixed team pairings were also announced for the mixed team air rifle, air pistol and trap events.
