India Open 2023: Srikanth could not stop World No.1 Axelsen, out of India Open after losing in first round itself

New Delhi: India’s Kidambi Srikanth fought hard but could not prevent Olympic and world champion Viktor Axelsen of Denmark from advancing to the second round of the India Open 2023. Meanwhile, Aakarshi Kashyap and Malvika Bansod, the other Indians in Action Dikhi, also lost against their respective higher-ranked opponents. Kashyap went down 15-21 12-21 to former champion Beiwen Zhang of USA while Malvika Bansod lost 17-21 12-21 to Thailand’s Busanan Ongbamrungphan.
