New Delhi: After the West Indies, the Indian team will go to Ireland to play the T20 series. Most of the senior players are expected to be rested on this tour, while there are reports of Shreyas Iyer and Jasprit Bumrah making a comeback. Another big news has come to the fore regarding this tour. India head coach Rahul Dravid and his support staff will be given leave after the ongoing series against the West Indies.Rahul Dravid and the entire coaching staff will be given leave
Now the question arises that if the entire staff is given leave then will Team India play without a coach. No, in fact the staff of the National Cricket Academy (NCA) will be in charge of the tour of Ireland. Dravid and other members of his coaching staff will return home from the United States in August, where the last two T20Is will be played, reports Cricbuzz. Apart from Dravid, the staff includes batting coach Vikram Rathour and bowling coach Paras Mhambrey.

so rest will be given
The main reason for the rest of the coaching staff is to ensure that they have enough time to freshen up ahead of the Asia Cup starting on August 31, which will be followed by a busy schedule including a three-match ODI series against Australia. This will continue till the World Cup. The responsibility of handling the team in Ireland will fall in the hands of NCA chief VVS Laxman. He is likely to lead the coaching team with Sitanshu Kotak and Hrishikesh Kanitkar batting, while Troy Cooley and Sairaj Bahutule the bowling coaches.

Laxman had earlier served as the coach when India toured Ireland last June for a few T20 matches. This time three T20 International matches are to be played in Dublin on 18, 20 and 23 August in Ireland. Although the team for the Ireland series is yet to be decided, it is expected that Hardik Pandya will lead the team. Team India is expected to be selected after Ajit Agarkar’s one-to-one talks with Dravid and skipper Rohit Sharma. The new chairman of selectors is expected to join the team in the West Indies soon. Possibly during the second Test in Trinidad. Salil Ankola, a member of the selection committee, is already traveling with the team. After winning the first Test in Dominica, the Indian team will fly to Trinidad, the venue of the second Test, on Monday.

Meanwhile, the schedule of the Asia Cup is expected to be released soon. According to some reports, no changes have been made in the schedule. As decided earlier- Sri Lanka will host 9 matches and these matches are expected to be played in Kandy and Dambulla. Lahore will be the second venue, where 4 matches will be played. The Asia Cup is to be held in both the countries from 31 August to 17 September.
