Indian Blind Womens Cricket Team announces captain and vice-captain

Mumbai The Cricket Association for the Blind in India (CABI) on Tuesday announced the team captain and vice-captain ahead of its first women’s bilateral series starting in India.
A bilateral series is to be played against Nepal. India will play 5 T20 matches in Mumbai from December 11, 2023 to December 15, 2023. Varsha, who won Team India a gold medal in the final of the International Blind Sports Federation (IBSA) World Games 2023 in Birmingham, will captain the T20 against Nepal. Whereas, Fula Saren will be continued as the deputy for the women’s bilateral series in Mumbai.
Speaking on the announcement ahead of the Nepal T20, Busse Gowda, president of the Cricket Association for the Blind in India, said, “This is the first ever women’s international bilateral in India. The City of Dreams is the best place to hold these matches. It “Dreaming that our women cricketers will get immense support and become the torch bearers of blind cricket. We welcome the Nepal team and wish the best team victory.”
After being appointed captain for the Nepal T20, Varsha said, “Once again I have been given the responsibility to lead the team. We are sure that the team will be the best and create new records.”
The Nepal team is expected to arrive in India on December 10, 2023, setting the stage for the inaugural Fedefina Women’s Bilateral T20 Cricket Series at the Blind 2023.
