Indian mens team defeated Yemen 3-0 in table tennis

Hangzhou. The Indian men’s team began their campaign in the table tennis team competition of the Asian Games with a comfortable 3-0 win against vulnerable Yemen in the preliminary round Group F on Friday.
The team comprising Commonwealth Games singles gold medalist Achanta Sharath Kamal, multiple-time national champion G Sathyan and Harmeet Desai defeated Yemen 3-0 in the best-of-five match.
Sathyan started with an 11-3, 11-2, 11-6 win over Yemen’s Owa Ali in the opening match.
Then, Sharath Kamal took India’s score to 2-0 by defeating EAM Gubran in straight games 11-3, 11-4, 11-6 in the preliminary round match played at the GSP Gymnasium.
Harmeet Desai sealed victory for India by winning the third match against Yemen’s MAA Aldhubhani 11-1, 11-1, 11-7.
Talking about their opening match, India’s Sharath Kamal said that it was an easy match for them because Yemen was a young team. He said that it is good to make a winning start to our campaign.
He further added, “It was kind of a practice match for us. They are a young team.”
When asked what strategy he made ahead of an easy match, Sharath Kamal said that he cannot take any match lightly as he has to prepare himself for the local conditions keeping in mind the later matches in the competition. Will have to do.”
India will play Singapore in the evening in the preliminary league.
