Indian women’s Test team’s wins in England, Australia best moments of the season: Amol Majumdar Navi – Dainik Savera Times

Mumbai: Indian women’s team head coach Amol Majumdar has said that the wins in the Test matches against England and Australia were his team’s best moments in this busy season. This season, India lost seven out of nine limited overs matches. He denied that captain Harmanpreet Kaur was out of form despite failing to reach double figures in six consecutive innings. Declining fitness levels, decision making ability and DRS calls remained the weak links for the Indian team.
India was defeated by England by 2.1 in the T20 series while Australia defeated them by 3.0 in ODI and 2.1 in T20. However, in Test cricket, the Indian team defeated both the teams by a big margin. “The most positive thing is that the girls have played well in all three formats,” Majumdar said after losing the third and final T20 match against Australia by seven wickets. We played Test cricket in India after nine years and many had not played with the red ball. These two Tests were the best moments of this season.
Majumdar, who took charge of the team just before the domestic season, admitted that the Indian players will have to work on their fitness and fielding, which has proved weak in the white-ball format. He said, “I have said earlier also that the focus will be on fielding and fitness.” There will be a chance to work on this in the coming few months.
We have to improve the performance on these aspects.” Majmudar said that India will also have to work on taking right decisions and DRS calls. He said, “We have to get used to it and improve on it.” If the players get used to this in WPL too, then we can take better calls on DRS in future.
