(Indonesia). India’s campaign at the ongoing Badminton Asia Junior Championships came to an end on the third day on Friday after two girls singles and a girls’ doubles pair lost their Round of 16 matches.
In the girls’ doubles pre-quarterfinal match, Tanisha and Karnika put up a tough fight against the Chinese pair of Chen Fan Shu Tian and Jiang Pei Xi.
The Indian pair made a bright start in the first game and showed excellent coordination during their 21-17 win, but their opponents staged a comeback in the last two games to win 21-17, 13-21, 13-21 in 50 minutes. I won the match.
In the Girls’ Singles Round of 16 match, Rakshita Sree was up against Huang Lin Ran of China. The Indian shuttler started well but could not find a consistent rhythm throughout the match and eventually went down 15-21, 13-21.
In the other girls’ singles pre-quarterfinal match, Tara Shah failed to find momentum as she went down 13-21, 8-21 against Xue Wen Jing of China in a one-sided contest.(IANS)
