Kiran George made it to the second round of the Indonesia Masters Super 500 badminton tournament but star player H S Prannoy bowed out after losing to former world champion Loh Kean Yiu of Singapore. The 23-year-old George made a comeback from one game down in the first round to defeat Toma Junior Popov of France 18-21 21-16 21-19.

The 23-year-old George made a comeback from one game down in the first round to defeat Toma Junior Popov of France 18-21 21-16 21-19. Prakash Padukone Badminton Academy’s George entered the main draw after registering two wins on Tuesday.
World number eight Prannoy lost to Loh 18-21 21-19 10-21 in the first round. Prannoy, who reached the semi-finals of the India Open Super 750 earlier this month, also lost in the first round of the Malaysia Open Super 1000 tournament. Prannoy (31 years) had won bronze medals in the Asian Games and World Championship last year.
