Chasing the target of 142 runs, the Indian opening pair of Smriti Mandhana and Shefali Verma batted aggressively and made a partnership of 137 runs for the first wicket. Mandhana played an inning of 54 runs with the help of seven fours and one six. Wareham got Mandhana caught out by McGrath.

After that, Jemimah Rodrigues came to bat and gave the team victory by hitting a four on the fourth ball of the 18th over.
