International squash competition will be held in Prayagraj. Loktej Sports News

Prayagraj, 26 December (Hindustan Reporter). The 3rd Sanjay Gupta Memorial World Squash Federation and PSA Satellite Tour Tournament will be held from February 9 to February 12 at the Amitabh Bachchan Sports Complex in Prayagraj. Along with the top players of India, players from countries like Sri Lanka, United Kingdom, Malaysia etc. will also participate in this tournament.

This tournament will be organized under the direction of retired Justice DP Singh, President of Allahabad Squash Racket Association. He told that squash is now in the Olympics. I want to see at least one player from our city representing India. This tournament is being organized in the memory of our former secretary Sanjay Gupta and this year is the third edition.

Tournament director Satish Chaturvedi told about the tournament on Tuesday that for the first two years we had organized the National Squash Circuit Tournament and this year we are organizing the international tournament. Naveen Sinha, patron of Allahabad Squash Racket Association, said that organizing this tournament will help in uplifting squash in Prayagraj. Local players will get experience. The total prize money of this tournament will be Rs 2.26 lakh.

Mohammad Sabir, secretary of Allahabad Squash Racket Association, said that squash is now one of the favorite sports in the city. Whereas earlier there were very few players. Now 5 squash courts are completely filled with players. This tournament will help the players to gain experience.
