Michael Bracewell (Royal Challengers Bangalore)

The Kiwi all-rounder, who came in as a replacement for Will Jacks, could prove to be a key player in the RCB setup considering his rich experience in the shortest format of the game. Bracewell has played 117 T20Is, scoring 2,284 runs with a highest score of 141 not out. He is also a good bowler and has taken 40 wickets across formats. The 32-year-old will draw confidence from the recent tour of India, where he scored a brilliant century (140 off 78 balls) in the first ODI in January. He also finished the T20I series against India with four wickets in three matches, bowling nine overs.

Harry Brook (Sunrisers Hyderabad)

Harry Brook will make his IPL debut this year after taking England by storm with the bat across all formats of the game. Bagged a whopping Rs 13.25 crore deal from Sunrisers Hyderabad and is expected to play a key role in the middle order. After making his Test debut against South Africa in September 2022, Brook traveled with the national team to Pakistan and New Zealand, where he registered scores of 153, 87, 9, 111, 89, 54, and 186, leading Their total number became 809. Scored runs in nine innings at an exceptional strike rate of 98.77. He has so far scored 2,432 runs in 99 T20s at a strike rate of 148.32.

Shimron Hetmyer (Rajasthan Royals)

The West Indies left-handed batsman, who is known to have been picked up by Rajasthan Royals for a whopping amount of Rs 8.5 crore during the 2022 mega auction, has paid it off with some impressive batting performances. Hetmyer scored 314 runs at an average of 44.86 last season, becoming the fourth highest run-scorer for the Royals. With his six-hitting ability in the death overs, Hetmyer gave a new identity to the Royals’ batting unit last season. His performances with the bat stabilized the Royals’ middle order. The expectations from him will surely be high this season.

Shubman Gill (Gujarat Titans)

Shubman Gill scored his maiden T20 century against New Zealand earlier this year. Scored 483 runs for Gujarat Titans last year. Has cemented his place as India’s opening batsman in white-ball cricket this year with four hundreds. His current form will be a huge positive for the defending champions, who will be looking to replicate the performance of their debut season last year. The Gujarat-based franchise would be hoping that the 21-year-old batsman leads the title defense again for the Titans this season.

Jos Buttler (Rajasthan Royals)

The wicketkeeper-batsman will be desperate to make an impact as Rajasthan Royals look to end their long wait for a second title. The right-handed English batsman was the Orange Cap winner in the last edition, scoring 863 runs in 17 matches. Butler scored 328 runs in IPL in 2020. He had to leave IPL 2019 midway to join the England squad for World Cup preparations, but he scored 311 runs during his eight-match stint after scoring 548 runs in the IPL 2018 season.
