Virat Kohli arrived at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore after 1427 days in the IPL and India’s charismatic cricketer did not disappoint the Royal Challengers Bangalore fans who turned up in large numbers to watch their team in action. Kohli’s brilliant knock along with skipper Faf du Plessis and his third century in the IPL ensured that RCB didn’t have to break much sweat and registered an emphatic 8-wicket win over Mumbai Indians.

Irfan Pathan said, Virat Kohli is the biggest superstar of Tata IPL. Indian fans couldn’t be happier with this. He has made a great start to this season. Last year, runs were not coming off his bat. The fans kept faith in him. There can be no bigger news for RCB than Virat Kohli returning to form.

The match between Virat Kohli and Jofra Archer was one of the talking points ahead of the game.

Former India cricketer Mohammad Kaif along with captain Faf du Plessis lauded Kohli and his quick running between the wickets and claimed that it should be a lesson for young cricketers.

Talking to Star Sports, Kaif said, Virat’s running between the wickets is a lesson for new players. When the 34-year-old runs like that in the middle of the wicket, it shows how hard he works on his fitness.

Former South African cricketer Jacques Kallis also praised Kohli for his aggressive batting in the opening match against Archer.
