The absence of Wanindu Hasaranga, who is with the national team, and Josh Hazlewood, who is recovering from a heel injury, has added to RCB’s woes. Although both of them are expected to join the team this week, but till then Wayne Parnell will have to take care of the team as a replacement for Reece Topley. RCB has depth in their batting. Against Mumbai, the opening pair of Virat Kohli and skipper Faf du Plessis set the stage for the team’s victory, but against the Knight Riders, the entire batting order got caught in the magic of spin.
The Lucknow spinner could add to RCB’s woes, having put in a fine performance during Friday’s five-wicket win against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Young leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi has so far picked up six wickets while experienced leg-spinners Amit Mishra and Krunal Pandya have also added impact. Mark Wood, the joint most successful bowler of the tournament so far, missed the last match due to flu and Avesh Khan was injured and it remains to be seen whether these two fast bowlers are available against RCB.
