Ravi Bishnoi vs Rohit Sharma
Leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi has been one of the top performers with the ball for LSG in IPL 2023. He is the highest wicket-taker for Lucknow this season with 16 wickets in 13 innings. He has an excellent economy rate of 7.76. Bishnoi could pose problems for MI skipper Rohit Sharma, who has struggled against spin bowling in the recent past.
The experienced opener has faced spin in eight innings and got out six times. Four of them have been dismissed against leg-spinners. Bishnoi has an impressive record against Sharma in the cash-rich league. The star batsman averages just 17 against Bishnoi and has dismissed him twice in five innings.
Marcus Stoinis vs Piyush Chawla
Lucknow’s Marcus Stoinis has impressed many with his batting exploits in the ongoing edition of IPL. The fast bowling all-rounder has proved that he can single-handedly turn the tide of a match with his striking ability. The Australian batsman is a threat to the fast bowlers and has blown the pacers’ senses on several occasions.
Rohit Sharma may turn to his most experienced campaigner Piyush Chawla to dominate Stoinis. Spinners have dismissed the LSG all-rounder five times in IPL 2023. Chawla has also been in terrific form and has been Mumbai’s most successful bowler with 20 wickets. The conditions in Chennai are also expected to help Chawla.
Krunal Pandya vs Suryakumar Yadav
LSG skipper Krunal Pandya is another spinner who can make a big impact in the Eliminator of IPL 2023. We saw how Chennai Super Kings (CSK) left-arm spinner Ravindra Jadeja bowled brilliantly in Qualifier-1. Pandya’s bowling style is quite similar to that of Jadeja and he could prove to be Lucknow’s trump card against Mumbai Indians’ champion batsman Suryakumar Yadav. The two would be well aware of each other’s moves, considering they have shared the Mumbai dressing room for several years now. Now the thing to be seen is whether the world’s number one T20 batsman Surya turns twenty or Krunal spoils the party.
Mohsin Khan vs Cameron Green
This whole discussion is incomplete without Mohsin Khan and Cameron Green. The last time when there was a clash, Mohsin Khan had won the battle. He had tied up the destructive batsman from Mumbai. Green and Tim David could not even score 11 runs together and Mumbai lost by 5 runs. When Mohsin comes in front of Green, the Australian batsman will want to remove the last time. On the other hand, the fans of LSG would like Mohsin Khan to repeat his previous performance.
