Bengaluru. Mayank Yadav bowled a fast bowling spell in the 15th match of the Indian Premier League 2024 on Tuesday at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium here, in which the fastest ball of the season was 156.7. He took 3 wickets for 14 runs, as Lucknow Super Giants defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore by 28 runs.

The 21-year-old Yadav took 3-27 in his debut match against Punjab Kings on Saturday. He crossed the 150 kmph mark nine times at the BRSABV Ekana Cricket Stadium and bowled a highly scoring ball caught from the speed gun at 155.8 kmph.

The right-arm fast bowler showed his magic again on Tuesday. Yadav, a member of Delhi’s Sonnet Club, touched a speed of 156.7 kmph against Cameron Green in the match against Royal Challengers Bangalore on Tuesday.

He got the wickets of Glenn Maxwell (0), Cameron Green (9) and Rajat Patidar (29) and with Naveen-ul-Haq claiming 2-25, Lucknow Super Giants bowled out RCB for 153 in 19.4 overs. Achieved his second victory. With four points from three matches, the team moved up to fourth place in the standings, level with Kolkata Knight Riders, Chennai Super Kings and Gujarat Titans. Rajasthan Royals are on top with six points from three matches.

Yadav showed his magic after opening batsman Quinton de Kock laid the foundation by scoring 81 runs in 56 balls. While Nicholas Pooran scored 40 runs in 21 balls and hit five big sixes in the last two overs of the match and took LSG to 181/5 in 20.

RCB got off to a good start with Virat Kohli, who has scored back-to-back half-centuries in the tournament so far, hitting two fours and a six in his 22 runs from 16 balls. In the fifth over, left-arm spinner Manimaran Siddharth opened the bowling as LSG captain with left-arm spinners from both ends. Krunal Pandya gave away 10 runs in the only over he bowled, but Siddharth took 1-21 in the three overs he bowled on Tuesday night.

LSG suffered another blow when captain Faf du Plessis was run out on 19 on a direct throw from Devdutt Padikkal. Nicholas Pooran gave defeat to RCB on the fourth ball of the last over by Naveen-ul-Haq.

While Mayank Yadav grabbed the headlines with his excellent fast bowling, LSG also performed brilliantly in fielding, catching and fielding. Devdutt Padikkal took three catches and one run out, while Nicholas Pooran also took three catches and one run out off a direct hit.
