Jaipur, , In the EPL 2024 match played on Thursday at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium here, Yuzvendra Chahal and Nandre Berger took two wickets each, while Sandeep Sharma and Avesh Khan did excellent death bowling, as Rajasthan Royals defeated Delhi Capitals by 12 runs. The winning streak of home teams continued in the Indian Premier League.

While Riyan Parag thrilled the home fans with an unbeaten 84 off 45 balls and helped RR post a competitive score of 185/5, captain Sanju Samson made quick changes to his bowling and the bowlers, especially in the death overs, restricted DC to 173/5. Didn’t disappoint them by stopping at /5.

David Warner hit two sixes off Trent Boult, a four and a six off Berger before DC finished the power-play at 59/2. Apart from avoiding run-out chances in the ninth over, Warner remained consistently aggressive for DC.
From the other end, Rishabh Pant used his hands well and hit two fours, before slog-sweeping Chahal to hit his first six. The partnership of 67 runs off 46 balls for the third wicket then ended , when Warner hit a strong shot off Avesh’s ball and Sandeep went to his right and took a brilliant catch at short third man. In an attempt to reduce the run rate, Pant tried to cut a wide delivery from Chahal, but the ball went to Samson. She went closer. Impact player Abhishek Porel’s wicket was certain to fall and he was out at long-off on Chahal’s second ball. Tristan Stubbs first hit a four off Sandeep’s ball. He was lucky that Boult dropped his catch at deep midwicket off Ashwin’s ball. After this, Stubbs hit two sixes against the off-spinner. Akshar Patel dismissed Avesh while taking four runs. After this Stubbs hit a six and a four on Sandeep’s ball. 17 runs were needed in the last over to win, but Avesh maintained his composure by giving only four runs in the last over to ensure RR’s second consecutive win.
