It took three matches for Sachin Tendulkar to open his account, he himself made a big revelation

Sachin Tendulkar had invited his friends to watch ‘the first match of his life’ but had to return home disappointed as the world’s most successful international batsman was out on the very first ball. Tendulkar, the main batsman of his colony, made some excuses in front of his group of supporters and convinced them that his dismissal was not his fault. His same friends also reached the field for their second match but this time also Tendulkar disappointed them and got out on the very first ball. Tendulkar did not invite his friends to the field for his third match. He was hoping for a change in luck but this time also luck did not favor him and he could only open the account by scoring one run. Tendulkar, however, was relieved to score this ‘one’ and returned home from the field happy because he had started a journey that was to change the face of cricket forever.
I am wasting my friend’s time: Tendulkar
Tendulkar said on Wednesday, ‘In the first match of my life, I had invited all my friends from Sahitya Sahwas. I was the main batsman of my colony and I had invited them to watch the match. All my friends came and I got out on the first ball which was quite disappointing. He said, ‘I made some excuses which were generally acceptable in street cricket. I said the ball was left low and they all agreed. I called him again in the next match and again I was out on the first ball. Tendulkar, popularly known as the Master Blaster, said, ‘I then made an excuse and said that the ball had come with a little more bounce and it was the fault of the pitch, not mine. But in the third match I said that I will not call him because I am wasting his time. When I scored one run in the third match, I realized the importance of scoring one run. He said, ‘I went and I scored one run. I remember I played five-six balls and got out after scoring one run. But somewhere I was happy, I had scored a run. I went back to Bandra from Shivaji Park. This bus journey was pleasant because I scored one run.
Sachin was happy after scoring one run in the match
Sachin Tendulkar, the only batsman to score 100 centuries in international cricket, said, ‘I realized the importance of scoring one run because later everyone used to say that one run can cost you, you can win or lose.’ “It was such a big change,” he said. In the first two matches I scored zero and then scored one run and went home. That one run changed my mood.
Sachin had learned to play straight drive in literary association.
Sachin also revealed that playing the straight drive at Sahitya Sahwas in Bandra, his first home in the city, helped him become an expert at this shot and it was later honed by his coach Ramakant Achrekar. Tendulkar said during the Indian Street Premier League (ISPL) program, ‘My favorite shot was the straight drive behind the bowler. I started playing this shot in Sahitya Sahwas because there was no fielder there (behind the bowler). He said, ‘When I went to Shivaji Park and started practicing with Achrekar sir, he used to tell me that I should play with a straight bat and this is the safest way to play the ball.’
