New Delhi. BCCI secretary Jay Shah on Wednesday dismissed reports that he would tour Pakistan for the Asia Cup 2023.
According to News18 CricketNext, Jay Shah said, “I don’t agree on anything. This is just plain miscommunication. Possibly done intentionally or mischievously. I will not do any tour.
Earlier on Tuesday, BCCI secretary Shah and Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief Zaka Ashraf met on the sidelines of the ongoing ICC meeting in Durban, where both discussed the Asia Cup and ODI World Cup.
It is being reported in the media that Shah has accepted Ashraf’s invitation to visit the neighboring country for Asia Cup matches.
However, IPL chairman and BCCI’s CEC representative at ICC Arun Dhumal has also denied such reports. He said, “Whatever the news is, it is absolutely false.”
Meanwhile, the ‘hybrid arrangement’ of the Asia Cup tournament will continue, where Pakistan will host four matches while Sri Lanka will host nine matches including all knockouts and the final.
