The captaincy of this team has been handed over to Jasprit Bumrah. Bumrah is returning to Team India after almost 10 months and has been given the responsibility of captaincy as soon as he arrives. This Indian fast bowler played his last match for India in September 2022. Bumrah, who has been troubled by a persistent back injury, is now making a comeback after surgery. This series against Ireland will decide the future of their Asia Cup and World Cup.
Apart from Bumrah, Rituraj Gaikwad has been made the vice-captain of the team, who is going to captain the Indian team in the Asian Games. At the same time, young players like Tilak Verma, Rinku Singh, Jitesh Sharma, Shivam Dubey, Shahbaz Ahmed have also got a chance in this team. Along with Jasprit Bumrah, the famous fast bowler Krishna, who has been out of action for some time due to injury, will also return to the team against Ireland.
