Jai Shah had said that Jasprit Bumrah is moving forward on the path of recovery from injury. Shah had clearly indicated that Bumrah is fit and ready to play in the T20I series in Ireland in August. Post surgery to repair a lower back stress fracture, Bumrah has undergone extensive rehabilitation at the NCA and is expected to play a few practice matches before taking a final call.

According to reports, Bumrah took part in a practice match on Friday at the Alur Cricket Ground near Bengaluru. A Times of India report states that Jasprit Bumrah bowled 10 overs to some of Mumbai’s young batsmen by dividing them into two spells. Whereas, many reports have claimed that Bumrah is bowling with good intensity in the nets. Recently, former India batsman Wasim Jaffer doubted whether Bumrah would be able to bowl with the same intensity.

Wasim Jaffer expressed doubt on the speed
Jaffer had said on Geo Cinema, ‘He is a big part of the bowling attack. I think he will have a very important role in the World Cup. We are missing him in death over bowling. We have missed him all this year. However, he needs to regain fitness. And there will be a question mark on whether he will be able to bowl in the same way, at the same pace.
