Representing the Jharkhand team in the ongoing NTPC Senior National Archery Championship at Kevadia, Gujarat, the archers of Seraikela-Kharsawan district have performed well. In the team event (boys category) of the Indian round, the archers of Jharkhand defeated Maharashtra and captured the gold medal. The archers of Seraikela-Kharsawan district had a special contribution in this. In the boys category, Jharkhand’s gold medal winning team included archers Anil Lohar from Pindrabeda in Seraikela-Kharsawan district, archers Sameer Behera and Sunil Kumhar from Kharsawan and archer Mohit Kumar from Dumka. Apart from this, in the final match of the mixed team event, the team of Jharkhand won the silver medal by defeating the All India Police team by a small margin. Jharkhand was represented in the mixed team by Anil Lohar of Seraikela-Kharsawan and Varsha Khalko of Ranchi. Earlier, Sunil Lohar won a gold medal and Sameer Behera won a bronze medal in individual competition.

Seraikela-Kharsawan District Archery Association Secretary Sumant Chandra Mohanty told that archers will be accorded a grand welcome on reaching Seraikela with medals.
