A total of 165 players were bid for 30 places in the auction, which included 104 Indian players. During the auction, Delhi Capitals bought young all-rounder Ashwini Kumari, resident of Govindpur, Jamshedpur, for Rs 10 lakh. Delhi Capitals was the last to bid on Ashwini. Ashwini’s base price in the auction was only ten lakh rupees. Last year, Gujarat Giants bought Ashwini for a huge sum of Rs 35 lakh. He also played three matches for Gujarat. Talking about this year’s performance, under the captaincy of Ashwini, the East Zone team won the title of Senior Women’s T-20 Trophy.

Parents happy with success

Ashwini’s father Dinesh Kumar Singh and mother Reena Devi are very happy with their daughter’s success. While talking to Prabhat Khabar, Ashwini’s father said that his daughter has once again made us all proud. Ashwini’s success will open new paths for other girls too. Ashwini’s mother Reena said that I always allowed my daughter to do whatever she wanted to do. The result of which is that it has never broken our trust and is creating a story of success. Ashwini was fond of athletics during her school days.

Ashwini’s father Dinesh Kumar Singh, who lives in Govindpur Phatak, runs a mobile shop to support the family. Ashwini’s father told that Ashwini has been playing cricket since the age of just 12 years. After completing 10th from Vivek Vidyalaya, Ashwini did Plus 2 from Chinmaya Vidyalaya. Ashwini told that since 2013 when she saw women’s cricket for the first time, it was in her heart that she also wanted to play cricket. Then he enrolled in a camp in the city and learned cricket. Ashwini, who was interested in athletics during her school days, told that she used to bowl well, but her best friend Ritu taught her the art of batting. He was the one who taught him to hit long sixes. The result of which was that she was successful in reaching the Women’s Premier League. Ashwini’s younger sister and brother both live and study in Bengaluru.
