Jyoti will train in Spain before Paris Olympics

New Delhi (Uttam Hindu News): Jyoti Yaraji, who won silver medal in 100m hurdles at the Hangzhou Asian Games, will train in Spain before the Paris Olympics. The Mission Olympic Cell (MOC) of the Sports Ministry has approved their financial proposal.
Jyoti, who is currently ranked 23rd in the Road to Paris list (women’s 100m hurdles). She plans to train in Tenerife, Spain for 45 days in preparation for the upcoming season and the Paris Olympics.
The government, under its Target Olympic Podium Scheme (TOPS) funding, will cover her airfare, boarding/accommodation costs, visa application fees, facility access costs, sports massage expenses, local transportation costs, OPA, among other expenses.
The MOC also approved the proposal of providing financial assistance to Indian shuttlers Chirag Shetty and Satwiksairaj Rankireddy’s training partners ahead of the Paris Olympics.
The world No.1 men’s doubles pair will train against the Scottish pair of Alexander Dunne and Adam Hall in Mumbai in June 2024 and the Indonesian pair of Ren Agung and Berry Agriwan in Hyderabad in July 2024, with Topps covering the international pair’s airfare and boarding. /Will finance the cost of accommodation.
Apart from Jyoti, the MOC also approved overseas training plans for Indian shooters and Rajeshwari Kumari while Raiza will train under coach David Kostelecki in Italy along with her personal coach Rajeshwari.
TOPS will bear their and their coach’s expenses including airfare, accommodation costs, coaching fees, among others.
The MOC also approved trap shooter Rajeshwari’s request for an equipment upgrade, with Topps funding her expenses for a new gun stock.
Apart from overseas exposure, it also approved the proposal of para-shooters Rahul Jakhar and Rubina Francis to participate in the upcoming WSPS World Cup in Changwon, South Korea.
TOPS will finance their entry fees, entry fees for their coach, their boarding/accommodation costs, local transportation costs, their gun permits, flight tickets, visas, insurance and expenses for the OPA.
