Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Tuesday congratulated Rohan Bopanna for winning the men’s doubles title at the Australian Open and announced a cash prize of Rs 50 lakh for the star tennis player. Bopanna was honored here. His family was also present on this occasion. Siddaramaiah said on social media platform
Bopanna along with his partner Matthew Ebden won the Australian Open men’s doubles title. He is the third Indian player to win the men’s doubles title in a Grand Slam tournament. Before him, Leander Paes and Mahesh Bhupathi had achieved this feat. Sania Mirza has achieved this feat in women’s tennis.
