Sheetal’s remarkable score of 141 proved decisive in facing a tough challenge from Uttar Pradesh’s Jyoti Baliyan, who won the silver medal with a score of 138. Haryana’s Sarita won the bronze medal with a score of 137.
Jammu-based armless archer Sheetal Devi is making waves in the archery world, and her success at the Asian Para Games in Hangzhou has added to her growing reputation. However, the competition at the Khelo India Para Games was tough, with Sheetal having to showcase both her archery skills and mental strength to emerge victorious in a thrilling contest against Jyoti Baliyan.
In the men’s recurve archery category, Haryana’s Paralympian Harvinder Singh showcased his talent by winning the gold medal. Uttar Pradesh’s Vivek Chikara won the silver medal, while Haryana’s Sahil won the bronze medal, highlighting the competitive spirit among the para-archers.
Para Asian Games 2023 silver medalist Rudransh Khandelwal of Rajasthan continued his brilliant performance at the Dr. Karni Singh Shooting Range. Khandelwal won the gold medal in the men’s 50m pistol SH1 event with an impressive score of 223.4, leaving behind Haryana’s Singhraj, who won the silver medal with a score of 216.4. Shivraj Sankhla of Rajasthan won the bronze medal with 194.7 points.
