KL Rahul out of third test against England


Rajkot (Uttam Hindu News): Indian wicketkeeper-batsman KL Rahul has been ruled out of the third Test match against England. Rahul had already missed the second Test in Visakhapatnam due to a right quadriceps problem. Now, he will once again have to sit out due to knee pain. KL Rahul was supposed to join the team on Tuesday, but after the scan conducted in Bengaluru, it became clear that he is not completely fit.

Rahul’s Karnataka teammate Devdutt Padikkal will fill his void. Padikkal, known for his brilliant strokeplay and promising talent, is ready to make his mark on the Test stage. With his recent excellent form, Padikkal has been included in the Test team for the first time. With three centuries, Padikkal has scored 556 runs at an average of 92.67 in the ongoing Ranji Trophy.

He scored 105 for India A against England Lions before scoring 151 against Tamil Nadu on Friday. Debuting in the 2018–19 domestic season, Padikkal appeared in 31 first-class matches and scored 2,227 runs at an average of 44.54. He appeared in two T20 Internationals for India, against Sri Lanka in July 2021.
Virat Kohli is already not included in the team due to personal reasons.
