Kochi shines in the final, defeating Hyderabad to win the opening season of Pro Panja League

The title match saw a closely fought contest, with Rudra Naik and Prince Kumar winning their bouts for Kochi, while Butta Singh and Savita Kumari triumphed over their opponents for Kirak. In the main card, Kochi’s Chetna Sharma took on Madhura KN in her toughest 65kg bout of the competition. Chetna gave Kochi the lead by winning the match with a clean sweep.
But Hyderabad’s Steve Thomas turned the tide in the next match against Akash Kumar of Kochi with a 10-0 win, activating the challenger round immediately in the 70kg bout. But the ups and downs continued on the night as Yogesh Chowdhary continued his dominance of the Pro Panja League and activated the challenger round against Jincy Jose in the 65kg bout. With a 10–0 victory, Kochi once again took the lead.
In the 80kg category, Kiraak’s captain Askar Ali was up against Prince Dheer of Kochi and it was a close contest between the two teams. Oscar activated the second challenger round to win the match 10–0 and put Kirak back in the contest. Siddharth Malakar defeated Sheikh Mohammad Abrar with a clean sweep to grab 5 points in the 90kg bout, but Mazahir Saidu defeated Ujjwal Agarwal 10-0 to take the match to a tie-breaker.
Kirak’s Steve beat Rudra Naik to give Kirak the lead in the tie-breaker, but Mazahir leveled the score with a win over Askar Ali. After that Chetna Sharma beat Madhura KN to give Kochi KDies the lead and then Yogesh Chowdhary beat Jincy Jose once again to help Kochi KDies lift the trophy.
