Bangalore (Uttam Hindu News): Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) batsman Virat Kohli was fined 10 per cent of his match fee for violating the IPL Code of Conduct during the Indian Premier League (IPL) match against Chennai Super Kings (CSK). Has gone.
According to a statement issued by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Monday, Kohli violated the rules under Article 2.2 of the IPL Code of Conduct.
The statement did not give full details of the incident, although it can be inferred that Kohli celebrated the dismissal of CSK middle-order batsman Shivam Dube in an over-enthusiastic manner, which led to the fine being imposed on him.
Dube played an innings of 52 runs off 27 balls to take CSK to a mammoth score of 226 runs in 20 overs, in response to which RCB could only manage 218 runs.
Kohli admitted his offense under Article 2.2 of the IPL Code of Conduct.
The statement said that the decision of the match referee for level-1 breaches of the Code of Conduct is final and binding. RCB will next take on Punjab Kings on April 20 in Mohali.
