Kohli hits 50th ODI century, breaks Sachin’s world record

Mumbai Indian run machine Virat Kohli broke cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar’s world record of 49 ODI centuries by scoring his 50th century (117) in the first semi-final of the World Cup against New Zealand at the Wankhede Stadium here.
Virat completed his third century in this World Cup by taking two runs off Lockie Ferguson and went ahead of Sachin. When Virat made this record, master batsman Sachin Tendulkar was also present among the audience. Virat celebrated this by jumping in the air and saluting Sachin who was present on the field, what a moment this is, breaking this record in front of the very person who holds this record. After breaking Sachin Tendulkar’s record, Virat bowed with both his hands and greeted Sachin who was standing at his place and clapping. BCBIA Secretary Jai Shah was also present with Sachin.
Virat’s wife and actress Anushka Sharma, who was present in the audience, also expressed happiness over her husband’s achievement by clapping. Virat did a flying kiss for Anushka. Virat crossed this record in 279 innings whereas Sachin had scored 49 centuries in 452 innings. Apart from this, Virat also left behind Sachin’s record of scoring the most runs of 673 runs in a World Cup.
