Chandigarh: Two bouncers are allowed to be bowled per over in the 2024 season of IPL and aggressive batsman Liam Livingstone believes that the best way to deal with this is to send the bouncing ball across the boundary.
Livingstone believes that modern cricket has become a batsman’s game, hence allowing two bouncers per over has increased the options for bowlers in the T20 format.
Ahead of his first IPL match against Delhi Capitals on Saturday, the Punjab Kings batsman said, “Instead of trying to hit sixes on yorkers, one should hit sixes on bouncers because bowlers have more options now.” It will be more effective on larger grounds.
I can’t say how many bouncers the bowlers will want to bowl on good pitches on small grounds. Let’s see.” He said, ”The top edge of the bat sends the ball across the boundary anyway, this is the new rule and it will help the bowlers against the best attacking batsmen in the world.”
