Amazing spinners from Lucknow
Left-arm spinner Krunal Pandya took three top-order wickets as Lucknow Supergiants restricted Hyderabad to 121 for eight. Krunal took three wickets for 18 runs. He dismissed Mayank Agarwal (8), Anmolpreet Singh (31) and captain Aiden Markram (0). He took the last two wickets in two consecutive balls in the eighth over, which made the Sunrisers score 50 runs for three wickets.
Markram, playing his first match of this season and also his first match as the captain of Sunrisers, lost the wicket on the very first ball. Ravi Bishnoi then dismissed Harry Brook, who was stumped by Nicholas Pooran. The Sunrisers team could not recover from these initial setbacks. Kyle Mayers (13) and Deepak Hooda (7) were run out. For the third wicket, there was a 55-run partnership between Rahul and Krunal. This partnership took the team to 100 runs. Krunal was dismissed after scoring 34 runs off 23 balls.
Adil Rashid dismissed KL Rahul and Nicholas Pooran and Romario Shepherd in two consecutive balls in the 15th over. But by then it was too late.
