Bengaluru: Quinton De Kock’s half-century of 81 runs helped Lucknow Super Giants set a target of 182 runs for Royal Challengers Bangalore to win in the 15th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) on Tuesday.
Today at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Faf Du Plessis has won the toss and decided to bowl first. Lucknow’s opening pair of Quinton de Kock and captain KL Rahul made a good start and added 53 runs for the first wicket. In the sixth over, Maxwell got Rahul caught out by Dagar. Rahul scored 20 runs in 14 balls with the help of two sixes. Whereas Quinton de Kock played an inning of 81 runs in 56 balls with the help of eight fours and five sixes. In the ninth over, Siraj sent Devdutt Padikkal out to the pavilion for six runs. Marcus Stoinis played an inning of 24 runs in 15 balls with the help of one four and two sixes. Ayush Badoni could not even open his account. Nicholas Pooran batted brilliantly in the last overs and scored unbeaten 40 runs in 21 balls with the help of one four and five sixes. Lucknow team scored 181 runs for five wickets in the stipulated 20 overs.
Glenn Maxwell took two wickets for Bengaluru. Reece Topley, Yash Dayal and Mohammed Siraj dismissed one batsman each.
