Lucknow will host 37 matches after ICC World Cup, BCCI approves Ekana Cricket Stadium

Lucknow: Cricket fans in Lucknow are getting good news one after the other. After the IPL matches, five matches of the ICC World Cup 2023 will be played in the capital. After this, Lucknow will host 37 women’s cricket matches. All these matches will be played at the Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium. Sports lovers are very excited about this.
After five matches of ICC World Cup 2023, Lucknow has got the opportunity to host 37 matches of Senior Women’s Inter Zonal 20-20 and Women’s Under-23 ODI Cricket Trophy. This will be the first time in the history of Lucknow, when it will host such a large number of cricket matches.
This will help create a better environment for domestic cricket in Lucknow, while the younger generation will be more attracted towards cricket. Along with this, sports lovers will get a chance to watch many matches in the city. Till now, due to limited number of matches and expensive tickets, many sports lovers are not able to watch the matches in the stadium even if they want to.
Apart from this, some matches of Ranji Trophy are also likely to be held at Ekana Cricket Stadium. According to the BCCI’s domestic cricket schedule, the Senior Women’s Inter Zonal Women’s 20-20 Cricket Tournament will be organized from November 24 to December 4 at the Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow.
In these, matches will be played on 24, 26, 28 and 30 of November. The match will be played on the 2nd and 4th of December. In these, the final match will be held on 4 December. On the other hand, talking about the under-23 program, matches will be played on 26th, 28th and 30th of January, while matches will be held on 1st, 3rd, 5th and 7th of February. 21 matches of Group C will be played in the Under-23 One Day Trophy. Teams from Himachal Pradesh, Chandigarh, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Maharashtra and Kerala will participate in these.
Before this, talking about the Cricket World Cup, five matches will be played at the Ekana Cricket Stadium. This will be the first time when World Cup matches are being organized in Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh. According to the ICC, a total of five matches including one match of India will be held in Lucknow. The match between India and England will be played on October 29 at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow.
