Bhopal, 25 August (Hindustan Times). Due to the rapid expansion of sports infrastructure in Madhya Pradesh, it will now get a new identity as the sports hub of the country. In the first phase of construction of International Sports Complex at Nathubarkheda at a cost of Rs 176 crore, construction of athletic and hockey stadium is going on. Multipurpose indoor stadium and other sports facilities will be available soon in the second phase at a cost of Rs 174 crore and in the next phase at a cost of Rs 593 crore. Public Relations Officer Bindu Sunil gave this information on Friday.

He informed that two “break dance” and “e-sports” academies are also being started in the state. Both the disciplines have been included in the Olympic and Asian Games as medal winning sports. Pattern State Program is being started with the joint effort of Football Association of India to encourage women’s football and junior team. Under the Mukhyamantri Khel Yojana, preparations are on to create sports infrastructure in every assembly constituency.

He told that Madhya Pradesh has now become a strong competitor of Haryana and Maharashtra due to the facilities and facilities for organizing sports. In some fields, Madhya Pradesh has no competition in the whole country. The sports scenario of Madhya Pradesh has completely changed in the last decade and a half.

Madhya Pradesh is the only state which has the maximum number of sports academies and training centres. From the year 2006 to 2015, 11 academies of different sports have been established. In these academies, players receive high-level training from experienced coaches with modern training facilities. Today many players have succeeded in making their mark at the national and international level.

There has been a historic increase in the budget of the Sports Department. A budget provision of Rs 738.13 crore has been made this year. Madhya Pradesh has the maximum number of astro turf hockey grounds. There are 12 hockey synthetic turf here and the work of seven grounds is going on fast. Similarly 5 athletics synthetic tracks have been constructed and eight tracks are taking shape. The State’s Shooting, Equestrian and Water Sports Academy is the only one of its kind in the state with world-class infrastructure with all advanced technology and modern facilities.

An international level sports complex is coming up soon on 100 acres of land at Nathubarkheda in Bhopal. It will have athletic track and field, athletic stadium, outdoor sports area, practice hockey ground, hockey stadium, indoor stadium, center of excellence for football and football ground, which will have two natural and one artificial turf.

The world’s best shooting academy is situated in Bishankhedi Bhopal. Madhya Pradesh State Shooting Academy of Excellence has 10, 25 and 50 meter shooting range along with excellent final range which is built according to international standards. The academy has five trap and skeet shooting ranges. International Shooting Sports Federation (ISSF) President Luciano Rossi has praised the world-class shooting infrastructure during his visit to Bhopal for the World Championship.
