Jaipur. In the first match of Matchday 6 in the Premier Handball League (PHL), Maharashtra Ironmen defeated Delhi Panzers. Maharashtra Ironmen won the high scoring match 41-31. In this match, the Maharashtra team’s attack completely dominated while Delhi Panzers continued to struggle.
In the 11th match of the inaugural season of the Premier Handball League (PHL), Delhi Panzers and Maharashtra Ironmen clash with each other. The Ironmen started the match with a bang. The attacking trio of Chiseliov, Manjit and Kiyani were on fire in the opening minutes of the match. He got the wonderful support of Aman and Sumit Kumar. All of them were shooting brilliantly. On the other hand, the Delhi Panzers were struggling to create chances and gain a foothold in the match. By the 15th minute, the Ironmen had taken a three-point lead. By this time the score had become 8-5. The Panzers were trying to get into their offensive rhythm but were unable to score consistently.
Delhi Panzers captain and star player Deepak Ahlawat also struggled to find the finishing touches in the first half. On the other hand, the Ironmen were able to consolidate their lead due to their excellent rhythm and scoring ability. By the end of the first half, the score was 21-12 in favor of Maharashtra Ironmen. This was because the Panzers were finding it difficult to break down the Ironmen’s defense in the first half.
Panzer star players Bhupendra Ghanghas and Ashok Nain had many chances but were squandering them. This boosted the confidence of the Maharashtra team in the second half. Although Panzer captain Ahlawat soon switched to attacking mode, the Ironmen’s defense kept thwarting it. Chiselov and Kiyani continued to score with excellent shots to extend their lead. Ahlawat, on the other hand, was trying to inspire his team but the rest of the players were unable to quite hit their stride. The Ironmen were leading 31–19 at the time ahead of the second half.
Even Naveen Deshwal was doing well at the Ironman goalpost. He made some impressive reflex saves that dealt a huge blow to the Panzers’ confidence in the second half. Chiseliov, captain of Maharashtra Ironmen, was arguably at his personal best. The Delhi team seemed to be struggling on their attacks. At the end of the second half, the score was 41–31 and thus the Ironmen, who dominated the entire match, won the match.
Sumit Kumar of Maharashtra Ironmen emerged as the top scorer for his team with 10 goals, while Ashok Nain of Delhi Panzers was the top scorer for his team with 10 goals. Sumit Kumar of Ironmen was declared player of the match for his brilliant performance in attack.
Final Score – Delhi Panzers – 31, Maharashtra Ironmen – 41
