Dubai: Former West Indies cricketer Marlon Samuels has been found guilty of breaching four clauses of the Emirates Cricket Board’s (ECB) Anti-Corruption Code. The Independent Anti-Corruption Tribunal found him guilty after a hearing. In September 2021, the International Cricket Council (ICC), in the role of Designated Anti-Corruption Officer under the ECB’s Anti-Corruption Code, accused Samuels of violating four rules of the Anti-Corruption Code during the T-0 League in 2019. The 42-year-old was found guilty after Samuels exercised his right to be heard before the tribunal. The ICC said in a release, ‘The tribunal will now consider the arguments of each side before making a decision on punishment. A decision will be taken at the appropriate time.

Samuels played 71 Tests, 207 ODIs and 67 T20Is in his international career, scoring 11,134 runs and taking 152 wickets. He retired from international cricket in November 2020. The former top-order batsman was found guilty of breaching Rules 2.4.2, 2.4.3, 2.4.6 and 2.4.7 of the Code of Conduct.
