In this match, India scored 35 goals one after the other. While Japan was able to score only one goal. It rained goals in the last league match of the Indian hockey team under the leadership of Madip Mor. With this, India has made a great place in the semi-finals.
The Japanese team was defeated in front of the Indian team. The team had scored seven goals within the first five minutes and showed no mercy to the Japanese team even after that.
Maninder Singh scored 10 goals for India. So Mohammad Rahil scored seven, Pawan Rajbhar and Gurjot Singh five each, Sukhwinder four, captain Mandeep Mor three and Jugraj Singh scored one goal. Masataka Kobori scored the lone goal for Japan.
The Indian team defeated Malaysia 7-5 in the match played earlier. In this match, Gurjot scored five goals while Maninder and Rahil scored one goal each for India. Arif Ishaq, captain Ismail Abu, Mohd Din, Kamruljaman Kamruddin and Syarman Mat scored for Malaysia. With these two big wins of the day, Team India finished second behind Pakistan in the elite pool table with 12 points, thus directly qualifying for the semi-finals.
