Michael Vaughan reveals unique way to end DRS controversy

New Delhi (Uttam Hindu News): During the ongoing Test series between India and England, a new debate is seen every day regarding DRS. There is a lot of discussion about Joe Root’s LBW out in the fourth test match. Meanwhile, Michael Vaughan has suggested a way to end this controversy.
On Sunday, Root looked quite angry when Indian off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin was out on review.
Ashwin’s ball hit the batsman’s pad and the umpire did not agree to the appeal and gave him not out. But India thought it right to go towards the third umpire. In DRS, the on-field umpire had to change his decision and Root was out on 11 runs.
Vaughan said, “I am not saying that anyone is cheating. I’m just trying to respond to what happens when a decision is made and we all disagree with it. “If the person on Hawk-Eye is filmed, it may end the controversy.”
At the start of the series, captain Ben Stokes found it surprising to dismiss Jack Crawley in the 432-run defeat in the third Test against India at Rajkot, as the technique revealed that the ball was not hitting the stumps but still took ground. The decision was upheld and DRS was awarded. This is in the form of ‘umpire’s call’.
After this the English captain talked about abolishing the ‘Umpires Call’ rules in DRS.
“For the game in general, for the people watching, we have to look at who is officiating, because the person operating the technology is more important than the umpires,” Vaughan said.
