We need to give time to the committee to complete the investigation. It is the decision of the wrestlers and we cannot force anyone but they should not withdraw from the tournament. The day-to-day functioning of the WFI is being looked after by a six-member monitoring committee headed by boxing legend MC Mary Kom.

Recently, the Sports Ministry has given the committee two more weeks to submit the inquiry report against Wrestling Federation President Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh. Earlier, the agitating wrestlers at Jantar Mantar had demanded immediate removal of Mr. Singh from the post of president. However, Singh had categorically rejected the allegations of sexual harassment leveled against him and said that he would not resign because of false allegations.
