Mumbai: Musheer Khan broke the 29-year-old record of the great Sachin Tendulkar by becoming the youngest Mumbai batsman to score a century in the Ranji Trophy final against Vidarbha at the Wankhede Stadium here. At the age of 19 years and 14 days, Musheer scored a century in 255 balls in the second innings of Mumbai in the final.

A month before his 22nd birthday, Sachin held the record of being the youngest Mumbai batsman to score a century in the Ranji final by scoring two centuries against Punjab in the 1994/95 season, which helped Mumbai win the title.

He became the second youngest batsman from Mumbai to make this record after Wasim Jaffer. Mumbai have won the Ranji Trophy title a record 41 times in 47 finals and are set to claim another championship in their 48th final. Meanwhile, Vidarbha are playing their third Ranji final, having previously won in consecutive seasons between 2017-19.
