Musk cancels former CNN host Don Lemons show on

New Delhi . Elon Musk, who abruptly canceled former CNN host Don Lemon’s show on X, said Thursday that the host only wanted to replicate CNN’s moribund business model “on social media.”

The billionaire ended his partnership with Lemon after his latest interview over some questions he didn’t like.

“Like everyone else, Lemon is welcome to earn on this platform,” the X owner explained in a post. “What we are not going to do is give them the guarantee of minimum payment that they were demanding.”

Musk said Lemon simply wanted to replicate CNN’s moribund business model on social media “which will do worse than cable TV here.”

The Don Lemon Show was scheduled to air three times a week on X.

The deal was part of an exclusive video partnership by X with several celebrities, such as former member of the US House of Representatives Tulsi Gabbard.

“The Don Lemon Show is welcome to publish its content on X without censorship, as we believe in providing a platform for creators to amplify their work and connect with new communities,” the company said.

The Musk platform said, “However, like any enterprise, we reserve the right to make decisions regarding our commercial partnerships, and after careful consideration, X decided not to enter into a commercial partnership with the show “
