Nagesh Trophy: Karnataka beats Delhi by 8 wickets

Dehradun . Uttarakhand defeated Maharashtra by 83 runs, while Karnataka defeated Delhi by eight wickets in the sixth edition of Nagesh Trophy – Men’s National T20 Cricket Tournament for the Blind 2023-24 at the Doon Baluni Cricket Academy here on Wednesday.
In the first match of the day, Uttarakhand won over Maharashtra by 83 runs. Uttarakhand scored 180/3 in the allotted 20 overs and then bowled out Maharashtra for 97 runs in the 17th over. Captain Gambhir Singh Chauhan scored 74 runs in 57 balls and was named player of the match. Deepak Singh Rawat also contributed a half-century (58 in 26 balls).
In the second match on Wednesday, Delhi scored 164/7 in the stipulated 20 overs, but could not stop Karnataka from chasing the target. Sunil Ramesh, who also took a wicket, hit a sensational century (114 off 69 balls) as Karnataka defeated Delhi with 13 balls to spare. He was chosen player of the match.
Karnataka will now take on Maharashtra while Pondicherry will look to register their first win when they take on Delhi at the Doon Baluni Cricket Academy here on Thursday, the fourth day of the Dehradun phase.
Following the conclusion of the Jammu leg, the IndusInd Bank Nagesh Trophy shifted to Dehradun for the Group B matches, which saw intense competition between Karnataka, Delhi, Maharashtra, Pondicherry and Uttarakhand. The Dehradun-leg began on Monday with action from Delhi, Maharashtra, Pondicherry and Uttarakhand.
The sixth edition of Nagesh Trophy began on 23 November with the competition between four teams of Group E at Jammu University. The tournament will run till February 02, 2024 and the league stage will be played till December 29, 2023.
