National Sports Competition: Maharashtra Association tops in medal tally; Haryana’s strong performance

Panaji, Vivek Kulkarni: In the 37th National Sports Championship, Maharashtra has further strengthened its Aghadi with 62 medals. On Saturday (Dec. 28), with some more events left in the day, Maharashtra would have registered 62 medals, i.e. 26 gold, 17 silver and 19 bronze. Haryana Union stood second with 16 gold, 5 rupees, 9 bronze i.e. 30 medals, while Army team stood third with 8 gold, 5 rupees and 4 bronze i.e. 17 medals. Odisha has so far secured 10 medals, i.e. 4 gold, 2 silver and 4 bronze, and is in fourth place. Had Madhya Pradesh, ranked fifth, reached the last round, it would have secured 17 medals i.e. 3 gold, 9 silver and 5 bronze.
National sports competitions are held in five cities of Govt, Vasco, Mhapsa, Fonda, Margao and Panaji. Additionally, competitive golf and track cycling events held in Delhi are also eligible. Yandachi is the 37th competition in the history of national sports. The previous edition in the history of the competition would have been organized in Gujarat. Last year, in the National Sports Competition of 2022, Army Dala would have occupied the first position with 128 medals, here is Lakshvedhi. This included 61 gold, 35 silver and 32 bronze medals.
