The 25-year-old Neeraj Chopra has won gold at the Tokyo Olympics (2021), Asian Games (2018) and Commonwealth Games (2018), besides becoming the Diamond League champion last year. Chopra likes to throw big in his first attempt and after the qualification, he will now expect the same in the final on Sunday. Chopra had achieved the second throw of 88.39m in the qualification round of the previous season in the US last year. However, he finished second behind defending champion Anderson Peters of Grenada with an effort of 89.91m in the final.

Pakistan’s Nadeem will face a tough challenge

Let us tell you that for the Men’s Javelin Throw event, out of 37 Javelin throwers, a total of 12 players have made it to the final match. Out of these 12, three players will be from India and one from Pakistan. Apart from Neeraj Chopra, only Arshad Nadeem of Pakistan and Jakub Wadlech of Czech Republic were able to qualify automatically. Nadeem made an excellent throw of 86.79 metres, while Wadlech’s best effort was 83.50 metres. The qualification mark to qualify automatically was 83 metres.

In such a situation, Chopra will face a tough challenge from Pakistan’s Nadeem along with Jakob Wadlech of Czech Republic and Julian Weber of Germany.
