Baku: Circle Institute In the ISSF Shooting World Championships, Amarpreet Singh won the fifth gold medal in the men’s 25 meters standard pistol event, while the Indian women’s Trikutane Sanghik Gatta won the bronze medal. India has so far won 5 gold and 4 bronze medals in the competition and China has secured the second position in the medal table. China’s federation is at the first place with 13 gold medals.
Amanpreet Singh scored 577 points in the men’s standard pistol event. Korean gold medalist Lee Geunhyeok was 3 times ahead of the leader and this ensured his fifth gold. In the OR event, French’s Kevin Chapon also recorded 574 multiples. However, according to the criteria of Inner Ten, he was considered as a bronze medalist solution.
Harsh Gupta, Akshay Jain and Amanpreet won medals by only a small margin. China, Germany and Korea remained in the first three respectively and Bharatala was considered as the fourth local solution. In the women’s 25m standard pistol, Gattat Tiana, Yashita Shokin, Kritika Sharma scored a combined total of 1601 points to give India another bronze. China won the gold medal and Azerbaijan won the silver medal.
