Mahindra 5 door Thar SUV can come with a large touchscreen. This will probably be a 10.25-inch unit, which has become common for SUVs in the country. This is also the minimum thing which attracts most of the customers. The current 3-door Mahindra Thar has a 7-inch touchscreen. Users have been complaining about its small size, average display and interface. The new Thar 5-door will be a more practical offering than the 3-door model while retaining its off-road capability. Previous spy shots have revealed several features including the dashboard and second row seats. It will get features like electric sunroof, a large infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a center armrest between the front seats, height adjustable seatbelts and AC vents for the rear passengers. It will also have a large boot space, which will make it more practical for everyday driving.

The Mahindra 5 door Thar may also get a new instrument cluster, which may include a larger MID, which may be borrowed from the Scorpio N. Some changes have been made to the large touchscreen adjustable dashboard. However, other features like HVAC controls, AC vents, toggle switch at the bottom, rotary dial and physical buttons appear to be similar to the current 3-door Thar. Since users will expect more comfort and features with the 5-door Thar. Therefore, the SUV has been equipped with a single-piece center armrest for the front occupants. Apart from this, its rear seat occupants will get the benefit of individual AC vents located below the front center armrest. Mahindra can offer regular bench seats or individual seats like the 3-door Thar, or both options depending on the variant. Other major upgrades on the 5-door Thar include a dashcam and a single-pane sunroof. The SUV will be available only with fixed roof format.

Viewed from the front, the 5-door Thar will share most of the signature features of the standard Thar. Why would people buy the 5-door version? Due to the larger size and new equipment, the Mahindra Thar 5-door may be more expensive than the existing Thar 3-door and its price is estimated to be between Rs 16 lakh to Rs 20 lakh. Prices for the current Thar 3 door start at Rs 10.98 lakh (RWD) and go up to Rs 16.94 lakh for the top-spec diesel AT 4WD variant.
