However, the opening wicket did little to impress Conway and Henry Nicholls as they added 106 runs for the second wicket before Nicholls was dismissed.

Conway and Daryl Mitchell then took the score to 184, but Shardul Thakur took three back-to-back wickets of Mitchell (24), Tom Latham (0) and Glenn Phillips (5) to turn the match back in India’s favour. done. They were eventually dismissed for 295 in 41.2 overs.

Conway said that the wicket was good to bat on and they could have done better if they had more partnerships.

He further said, “I thought the wicket was good to bat on. We were not able to build many partnerships and put pressure on our bowlers.”

New Zealand ODI captain Tom Latham said he was disappointed with the fact that his innings lasted only 40 overs but felt the experience of playing in India would help his players in the ODI World Cup later this year.

“This is our last experience in India before the World Cup so the players have been exposed to these conditions in three games and hopefully that will help in October,” Latham added.
